Nothing since the devastation of the Spanish flu in 1918, has the world seen since the arrival of the lethal virus COVID19. This killer virus has infected all walks of life. Worldwide, deaths are staggering. Countries around the world have scrambled to produce a vaccine. The diving industry which relies on travel, sales, and many more related offshoots of the business has also felt these impacts. Liveaboards/dive travel came to a screeching halt during this pandemic. In many places, local diving picked up but with strict regulations put in place.
PADI members from across the world put together a positive video to tell us that “Things will get better” in 2021 and encourage us to look forward to better times in 2021 in the diving industry. Their message stresses the loyalty of PADI to its members and the diving industry and their trust in all the talented people who work in the industry.
