Many books on scuba diving have been published over the course of time, almost since the beginning of the scuba era. The Scuba News Canada will post these “nostalgia” books considered a “blast from the past” on a regular basis, and we want you, our readers, to make suggestions of “older nostalgia diving books” you have enjoyed, or believe our readers will. We will publish it and add your social media/website link to the article if you send us the proposal. Contact us.

Sea Hunt was a comic anthology book based on the same-name television series that originally aired from 1958-1961. It starred Lloyd Bridges as Mike Nelson, the frogman. For thirteen issues, the comic series ran at a tri-monthly pace, although the first three were released in the one-shot Four Colour series.

Sea Hunt is an American action television adventure series that aired from 1958 to 1961 in syndication and was successful for decades afterwards. 155 episodes were produced. It stars Lloyd Bridges as Mike Nelson, a retired Navy diver. Bridges was given a crash course in scuba diving by Zale Parry.  Zale’s role in Sea Hunt was mainly a female underwater stunt double in the series, but in a few episodes, she appeared as a character actress.

To fans of the show, Sea Hunt was an inspiration for many to take up scuba diving, also called skin diving in that period in time of Sea Hunt.
