In early October, Julie Ouimet from N2Pix was invited to Preside over the Video Jury of the CMAS World Championship of Underwater Photography and Videography held in Porto Santo, Portugal. Teams from 18 countries gathered for the weeklong event.

The competition is very demanding given that participants have only 4 dives to gather images and the rules are very strict on what is accepted or not.

Julie had been a member of the jury for the prior edition in 2019 but acting as President was much more demanding given that each film submitted needed to be scored but also verified with much scrutiny regarding respect of the various rules such.

Julie became the first woman to act as President of the Jury.

In order from left to right: Renee Grinnell Capozzola (Jury President – Photo), Kerim Sabuncuoglu (CMAS Director Visual Commission ) and Julie Ouimet (Jury President – Video).

While in Porto Santo, Julie dove the 2 signature dive sites of the area including the wreck of the Cordeca, sunk 5 years ago as an artificial wreck.
