About Deep Sea Conservation Coalition

In recent decades, scientists have discovered a hitherto unknown abundance of life in the ocean’s dark depths. Strange and intriguing animals can be found in cold-water corals, sponge fields, seamounts, hydrothermal vents, and a variety of other environments.

We’re only scratching the surface of how these amazing ecosystems can provide humanity with new scientific pathways and answers regarding the nature of life.

However, climate change, deep-sea fishing, deep-sea mining, and other human activities are threatening these delicate places and their incredible biodiversity.

The Deep Sea Conservation Coalition (DSCC) is calling for immediate action to safeguard the ocean depths, their amazing biodiversity, and the secrets they hold.
